We did this here in Boston, which has led me to go out much more often than I
used to.

The unintended downside is that you absolutely cannot walk down any street
anymore without getting smoked out. Every doorway has 5-10 people clustered
around it, puffing away at all times of the day.

At least when they were in the bars, I could decide to not go in them, and thus
avoid the horrible smoke.

(Cigarette smoke makes me physically ill. Shortness of breath, dizzyness, sever
headache.)

Interestingly, Madison has passed a law banning smoking in all public
places (including bars). I know there are several other cities that
have this already. I am looking forward to when it's implemented, but
only for the purely selfish reason that I'll want to go to bars to see
my husband play again.
