I totally understand all that.
But the defence for any wartime atrocity is : "Its' fu**king war, kill or be 
killed".
That's why you have the Geneva convention.
That's why you have rules of International Law.

It's intriguing that so many seem to see absolutely nothing wrong with what was 
shown.

The easist way to avoid being killed by an American soldier is not to shoot at 
them.  This soldier has enemy all around that want to
kill him and booby traps all over.  If he waits to assess every situation he's 
dead.

In peace you get the benefit of doubt, in war you don't.
