Being a professional means you are able to stand upto what the job entails. And when things out of the norm happen you can throw professionalism out the window.

Sure its assumed don't hit our fans they pay us. But its also assumed that fans won't act like jackasses and assault the players. The #1 priority is to protect the players from harm and the NBA didn't.
