They're both fine - but they're both for completely different businesses - I find it almost impossible to judge a logo without knowing what kind of business that log is to represent. However in both cases I don't like the repetition of the "slanted box" - I would use it just in the lettering and be done with it. Also does the break in the pattern (you have orange, green, orange, green, orange, green, green) signify anything? I would think that the "d" would be orange. But still - if you offer some idea of the emotive factor involved then I'd be more comfortable giving you a critique. They really are fine all on their own but they may still be utterly inappropriate for the business at hand.
