Too true - but I would never consider whole or variable life a foundation of
a retirement plan (it's too bad a lot of people do).

You get so much more value for your money in a more traditional retirement
plan.

All this being said Erika is really correct in the idea that Life Insurance
is a cost - it costs money.  If you have nobody to leave money too then save
yourself some money and get just enough insurance to cover the funeral you
want.  Spending what you saved on disability or health insurance or a real
retirement plan is probably a much better bet.
