It's sort of an understatement, but I always loved Judas Priests' very stable bottom end. The bassist was always there and always held the rest of the band up. More so musically, was my love for the "pedalling" bass lines that rarely followed the guitar. Lost of dissonance and I likes it!
Geddy, yes. Technically, an awesome player. It wore me out trying to play his bass lines on a guitar. How he does it on a bass... (whew) The bass lines of Gary Wright's songs. Dream Weaver and Your Love Is Alive are very melodic and stable. With all the talk about greatest drummers/greatest bands... Who are everyone's favorite bass players? My top 3 (in descending order) are: - Les Claypool (of Primus) - Bootsy Collins (of P-Funk) - Nick Oliveri (formerly of Queens of the Stone Age) There are many more - if I were to extend my top players to my top 5 it would also include Geddy Lee of Rush and Melissa Auf Der Maur (both when she was in Hole and her solo stuff as well). Was just curious :) Respectfully, David Churvis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:153865 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
