"FAQ" may be special.

It seems to me that the plural of "FAQ" should be "FAQs" if the
acronym is used to designate different documents referencing different
subjects.

That is, it could be argued that "FAQ" carries an implicit "document"
or "document type object" associated with it so that when you say
"FAQ" you really mean:

Frequently Asked Questions Document

That being the case, an author that created multiple frequently asked
questions documents could be said to have authored many FAQs.
