I just had images in my head of people walking innocently down the street, suddenly falling to the ground, screaming "MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!"
Admittedly, it's better than being killed because you happened to get lost, but if somebody gets lost and then is suddenly on the ground thinking they're being fried like an egg, I would think not knowing _why_ it happened or how/where to find the source of the beam would be very distressing -- if not causing a psychotic break all-together... It's true... may god strike m-Oh GOD! MAKE IT STOP! <chuckle>... <sob>...
