My 2005 Prius has an RFID key - a little fob that unlocks the car doors
when I get close, and lets me start the whole thing with a button press.

It's neat, and I'm actually getting used to not putting a key in the
ignition, but there's no alternate method for starting the car... if
there's any problems with the RFID system, there's no key-turned
ignition. There's a key on the door, so I can get in, but that's about it.

So, if, ten years from now, it's still working perfectly, I'll be happy,
but I'm just curious how well it will hold up in the long run.
