Great dog! The crate should be big enough for the dog, but not too big. A puppy needs a smaller crate than a full grown dog. If the crate is too big, the crate training may not work.
I have never bothered with any pans or anything like that. If the dog goes in the crate, just clean it up. If you are consistent with the training, the dog will learn very quickly not to go in the crate. Crate size is critical! I would recommend that you take your puppy to the vet, a pet shop, or a dog trainer and ask them what size crate they recommend. It will most likely be a lot smaller than what you have. > hey guys! > we may be picking up a 3 month old wiem tonight. > a buddy gave us a large cage to crate train him in. > > it dosnt have the removable pan, was curious if any one know what i > could use as a substitute. also it does not have a devider, i want to > rig up some thing. > > also any good sites on how to train a dog? > the cage we have is Midwest 39ZN > found a pn on ebay > http://cgi.ebay. com/Pan-For-Midwest-30-Inch-Drop-Pin-Stationary-Crates-2Pan_W0Q> QitemZ4385487114QQcategoryZ20745QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem > but thats 30 bucks... > > crating info > http://www.weimclubamerica.org/yourweim/crate_training. html ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase Captivate from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=52 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:174816 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
