We never signed anything saying he had.  So that's either not it, or 
he's even dumber than I suspected.

When he later brought a resume by, the objective listed was to be in 
"Computer engineering or music education".  I think the music education 
will probably be a pass as well, considering he apparently dropped out 
of college.

I'm not knocking dropouts.  I am one.  I'm just saying that most schools 
want a bachelors and (maybe, just maybe) a teacher's license.
