That's quite a crude way of putting it.  I wish it wasn't so, but that is in 
fact the basics of it.  If you were poor, had no marketable skills, and 
needed food to feed your children, you'd probably kill also if necessary. 
It's an animal instinct.

But whether or not you would, it's a realistic view of the fact that welfare 
today is a necessary evil.  I hate it myself, I don't want to give my money 
to people just to keep from getting killed.  Survival of the fittest is more 
than being smart and having a good job to buy things.  It's an inborn 
instinct to live, no matter what the cost to others.  Capitalism is this at 
its roots, except capitalism does not take into account that people would 
just as soon shoot you for an apple as pay for it, under certain 
circumstances.
