Within the past month or so, Eclipse has been slowly eating more and
more cpu when it runs.  Currently I'm watching it use somewhere
between 70 ~ 90% cpu while just sitting there.  I've used process
explorer to try to identify what it's doing, but all I've been able to
figure out it that most of the cpu is being used on on msvcrt.dll

This is frustrating!  My dell no longer wants to be quiet as the fan
has to continously run.  Anyone else experience this kind of thing. 
BTW, I have uninstalled and reinstalled without plugins, but nothing
changes.
