GO USA!!! GO USA!!!
LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE!!!!

"Late last year, it emerged that the Pentagon had paid a private
company, the Lincoln Group, to plant hundreds of stories in Iraqi
newspapers. The stories - all supportive of US policy - were written
by military personnel and then placed in Iraqi publications."

I wonder how much of the sentiment that say the majority of Iraqis
love the US being there is owed to these stories?

If any other country did this it would be seen as ..well...evil
wouldn't it? Lies, subterfuge, war, slicing and dicing rights to
privacy and other civil rights, scandal after scandal where money goes
to big corporations, killing the environment and passing laws and
reneging on treaties at the behest of corporations (Abramoff). It
sounds like the start of some "Sci-Fi" post apocalyptic future novel.

I know the overall standard of living in the US is probably still
better than in many places, but I would be just a little worried when
things in my country started to sound more and more like those
dreadful nihilistic stories that were once thought to be impossible
Fiction.

It really does sound like The Empire from Star Wars *chuckle*. Hey,
doesn't the US actually have a space based initiative Called Star
Wars?
*sad smile*
