Initially, it may have been political commentary, it may have been ok.
But when newspapers start to republish it and publish similar things
it becomes nothing more than a "f*** you muslims".

I would wager the same would never happen if it were the Virgin Mary,
Jesus Christ, or an image of the temple in Jerusalem.

It isn't that the thing is blasphemous in the first instance, of
course it could have been a political commentary, ironic cartoon
whatever.

But when you repeat it for no other reason than to BE offensive, I
think that's where the problem is.
