I was a desktop/web applications programmer under a "project manager" who
had previously been an content editor, but schmoozed the clients well enough
that she was able to sell projects. Our company felt that sales people
should also manage the technical folks, so she became a technical manager,
without understanding the first thing about what I did. She took credit for
MY work - Literally - she would take my name off of specs and reports and
put her name on them, without changing a word. She would blame her mistakes
on me to our customers, which is incredibly unprofessional whether I made
the mistake or not - if she is my manager isnt' she responsible for any
mistakes that came out of our little department?

I ended up going to the division manager about her, who looked into it and
reprimanded her. So she wrote me up for all these mistakes she made -
literally she wrote me up for technical mistakes SHE made. I refused to
sign the write up and gave my notice at that time.
