Simplest comments:
Access = Desktop Application
mySQL = Server Application

The main thing you'll have to consider is that Access has SEVERE
problems when more than one user goes into get/add some data, while
mySQL will handle that properly

There are a couple of restrictions on mySQL, but they're mostly compared
to the bigger database engines like SQL Server and Oracle - it's
DEFINITELY better than using Access
