I got that from real life long before I became a Christian. That's an issue with the relationship in question, not an issue with the idea of egalitarianism. If you genuinely believe it, you then must also come to the logical conclusion that it applies to all sorts of other relationships. Black-white relationships for example. There is as much validity in racism as there is in sexism. Which is to say, absolutely none whatsoever. To prove my point, join me for a small thought experiment. Lets say hypothetically that you found yourself single and in love. You decided you wanted to get married. It turns out that the woman you want to "spend the rest of your life with" is a merm -- born with both male and female sex organs. It happens, I've known at lest 2 of them. One merm was denied the ability to change their gender on their driver's license by the state of California because s/he had not undergone gender reassignment surgery. They didn't need to, since they were transitioning from living as a woman to living as a man, but the physical equipment which accompanies the male gender already existed in them in-tact, and as such there was no need for surgery. So lets say that when you pop the question to your blushing bride, she has this small bit of unexpected news for you. So who wears the pants in the family? You can't argue that God wants her to be subservient to you because you're the man of the house since God gave her a dick also and upon inspection you discover it's bigger than yours.
