I just went though a similar process of reinstalling the software on a
couple of del servers I bought a year ago.  They came with a CD with
all the drivers though.  I got all the drivers and also the SATA
drives going without much trouble.  Just a couple of google searches
got me all the info I needed.

I've found Dell's to be GREAT machines, though their tech support does
blow chunks.

What model Dell is it?
