I have a Garmin c330 which I absolutely love. It's a mid range, moves from
car to car and powered by cigarette lighter (or usb port when updating).
Contains all the US in the unit (so when I flew to Denver to see my family I
could take it and use it on my rental). Has a well set up POI (point of
information) for finding stores, museums, gas, food, etc. Its small enough
to place in my glove compartment when I'm not using it. Mounts to the
windshield with a Suction Cup.

Its not top of the line and I am sure that there are newer versions of it
out, but I tried out the Tom Tom (good maps, but couldn't find my house
which is 4 years old and lousy POI), a higher price Garmin (maybe good if
you are a real estate agent trying to plot out a whole slew of houses to
show someone) and a few others, and this one works the best for me. Btw,
you can have it go to two places, just have to set the first one, then set
the next one and tell it to go there prior to the first). I paid just under
$700 for it at the time.

Subject: GPS for car

I'm looking to get a GPS system for my car. Anyone out there with
suggestions or experience to impart? I want something that can be moved
from car to car, and can be charged by the cigarette lighter or also powered
by battery. I'm willing to spend a fair amount on this, so pretend there
are no budget constraints...
