A couple of evenings ago on the DC beltway a Ford Explorer jumped the guardrail between the inner and outer loops and landed on a Ford Windstar minivan. 5 dead at the scene, at least two flown to shock trauma. I wonder what on earth was going on inside that Ford Explorer to cause it to jump the guardrail. We take driving way to matter-of-factly in this country. We don't give it nearly the respect that it deserves. 5 lives. Poof. For what?
