My short version:
The US won nearly all the battles. On top of that the Tet Offensive
was a huge military defeat for the communists. They lost all the
attacks and close to 40,000 troops in just a few weeks. They Viet Cong
were practically destroyed. Cronkite claimed we lost and we could
never win. Johnson then threw in the towel and so did America
