I'm a Nikon guy, I like the D70 over the D50 because of the memory card. The D50 uses the SD card, while the D70 is compact flash.
I've used the D70, It is a good camera, it is a little smaller and lighter than the D100, which is one of the reasons I don't like it, but is a reason a lot of people do. I prefer a bigger more stable camera body, and I like being able to add on the additional battery.
