I agree that most learning should be intuitive. However, it is a lot easier when a person has recall of basic facts, especially basic math facts like 6x7=42.
By the way, my wife and I went to view a Montessori school that we considered for our daughter. I really liked the set up. They teach a lot of self reliance and learn how to learn skills. In the end, we couldn't afford the school though. I would love to see vouchers pass. I think they will one day, but too late for my children. In my opinion, it would be the best thing to happen to the public school system. Once there is competion, the product improves. Of course, that opens up a whole new can of worms. I am sure that many will disagree. However, I used to be a teacher and my wife still works in the education. I am not jumping on a vouchers bandwagon, but basing it on what I have seen as a teacher and parent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Upgrade to Adobe ColdFusion MX7 Experience Flex 2 & MX7 integration & create powerful cross-platform RIAs http:http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;56760587;14748456;a?http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/flex2/?sdid=LVNU Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:226816 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
