As I have said all along, we invaded for several reasons, some of which were
given, others of which were not given but were taken into consideration.
Here are the few that come to mind:

- WMD - now most everyone agrees there were no WMD, but at the time, almost
everyone thought there were. When in doubt, everyone assumed the worst and
acted on that assumption.
- Saddam's plans to re-arm and re-assert Iraqi power
- Saddam's continued defiance of the UN-mandated no-fly zone.
- Crimes against humanity.
- Sponsorship of suicide bombers in Israel.
- His plot to assassinate a former President
- Freeing the Iraqi people
- Using Iraq as a wedge to stop the spread of militant Islam and fight back
with the spread of pluralistic democracy in the Middle East

There were lots of reasons for going to war, not just one.
