I donÂt actually have the numbers to hand but last I heard (about a month ago) blu-ray was ahead in the states (but only very slightly) and HD-DVD was marginally ahead here in Europe. I suspect in this modern day the final winner will be the first on pirates crack properly enabling people to pick up movies for bargain prices at the local market. Cheap pirated movies will win the day for one format or the other because consumers on the whole would rather pay £2 for a poor quality pirate than £20 for a high quality studio original.
