Hmmm...here are just a few of the scientific bodies of national or
international standing that have offered joint opinions that support the
position of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) that: "An
increasing body of observations gives a collective picture of a warming
world and other changes in the climate system... There is new and stronger
evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is
attributable to human activities." (February, 2007)

Here we go:

- The G8+5 Joint science academies, in statements from 2001 to their most
recent in 2007.
- US National Research Council.
- American Meteorological Society.
- American Institute of Physics.
- Federal Climate Change Science Program (my favorite because it was
commissioned by the Bush administration and stated in it's assessment that:
"the observed patterns of change over the past 50 years cannot be explained
by natural processes alone")
- American Ass. For the Advancement of Science.

I don't have the exact figures for the number of scientists who actually
belong to the groups listed above. In all, i've seen about 30 recognized
scientific groups, nationally and across the world, who have issued
statements that agree with the IPCC assessment of human contributions to
global warming.
