Well, certainly comparing HP to LOTR is going to be a somewhat unfair 
comparison...but I do agree totally. I enjoyed all the stuff at the end of 
LOTR, although the progression in the books is much better, I don't think it 
worked quite as well in the movie. There is so much that happens after the 
Great War is over, I always loved all the stuff that goes on in the Shire at 
the end, and reflects much better on real life where everything isn't so easily 
wrapped up in a neat little package. I think passing HP off as just "kid's 
books" is a poor excuse for it. There just needs to be a little more in between 
this big battle and people getting killed and the "happily ever after" stuff. 
And most of what was in there I found pretty obvious and uninteresting for the 
most part. What JKR told in interviews about what happens to the characters 
later in their lives was far more interesting.
