Some choose to serve and some choose to lead.

A leader's first responsibility is to the safety and welfare of those
he or she leads. When a military leader chooses to take his team into
combat he should do so with as much careful planning as possible and
only as a last resort.

When a leader doesn't do that, there is such a thing as honorable
people dying because of incompetent leadership. Therefore, when a
commander puts his troops in a position without thought as to how they
will withdraw (say, a box canyon), and loses control of his control
of his strategic options - or worse cedes them to a foreign power - it
is our duty job to remove that commander.

As a leader, my job is get those who choose to serve out from under
poor leadership - do my duty - and that's how I can best serve my
country.
