I finally got MythTV up and running nicely on media pc. It's funny since I had tried all the myth-distros, but none of them worked great on my system, a p4 2.8ghz, hdhomerun network tuner, cheap graphics card and SD resolution TV. I wanted to play around with the newest ubuntu so I did a default install on it, loaded the "restricted" drivers for my nvidia 5200. By default, the eye candy on ubuntu really gives vista a run for the money...or lack of money in the case of ubuntu :)
Anyway, after using the apt-get commands to pull down mythtv, and about an hour of trying to figure out the configuration correctly, the system is smoothly playing all the hd content coming over the air waves. I think I can finally drop my satellite!
