I recently had similar problems... turns out it was interference.

I have a server in the same closet as the router.  It's rarely on, but turns
out that one of the heat-controlled case fans was causing the problem.  Took
me a little while to track down because the server being ON was fine, only
when that one fan kicked in (so only when the server got some load) did it
screw with the signal.

If you've added anything recently take a look at it (remember stuff above
and below the router as well). Also any new wireless tech in the same range
might conflict (phones, transmitters, etc).

Just try turning anything like that off (unplug it to be sure) and see if
the problem goes away.
