Good thought ... but we are cell-only. We have a phone line (required by
AT&T in order to get the satellite/DSL/cell bundle), but we don't have a
landline phone.

Shawna,

Have you recently purchased 2.4GHz cordless phones? If you have a 2.4 GHz
phones and a 2.4GHz router it'll cause all kinds of network chaos.

Subject: Wireless/internet connection drops

Okay computer experts . I have some seriously weird issues happening with my
wireless Internet connection over the last two or three days. My husband,
usually my go-to guy for these kinds of problems, is stumped.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, less than 3 months old, with a wireless
connection to our AT&T DSL router (Windows XP SP2). Randomly (as in I can't
see any discernible pattern), one of these two things will happen:

1. I'll lose Internet connectivity . connection to the wireless network
is fine, hubby's computer can connect to the Internet fine, but nothing will
load on my machine.

2. Wireless network connection will drop . the wireless utility will
just lose the connection and even lose sight of our network. It can view
every other network in our neighborhood, but not ours (router is in the room
right next to my office). No other wireless device on our network ( a
printer and our Homezone DVR box) seems to be having these issues.

Restarting the laptop will usually take care of it, but it's happening so
frequently that I'm restarting every 10-15 minutes. Rebooting the router
usually does nothing.

I'm kind of hardware-challenged, and like I said hubby has no clue, so any
insight is welcome! I really want to avoid sending the thing in to Dell for
repair . didn't want a Dell in the first place, so if this is an easy driver
fix or something, that would be wonderful.
