I do appreciate that the article does not directly connect rising wheat prices 
to Ethanol. I posted it because it is relative to Ethanol production in that 
land is a finite resource and if you take land for growing crops and substitute 
it for growing fuel you will have less land for growing food hence less 
production hence higher prices. I am not saying that the recent meteoric rise 
in wheat prices is a direct result of taking land out of food production to 
grow fuel however it is one of the causes, of which there are many, that I 
think this article failed to address fully.

What we are facing is an unprecedented event - rapidly rising food prices and 
shortages not seen since the second world war. Although wheat is currently the 
headline at the moment I believe in the coming months we'll see Soyabeans, 
Canola and other basic raw materials following the trend.
