And you're right Robert, that there are plenty of demagogues using
this issue to forward their own agenda; but that's not any different
than any other issue.

And so rather than respond to those people with an extremist view in
the opposite direction (the "cycles" concept - things don't just
happen for no reason), what we should all be doing is advocating for
gov't funded research.

The reason there's so much traction is because people who lives in
places that actually have weather, unlike San Diego, has noticed a
very specific and very quantifiable change in weather over the last 2
decades.

In MN we've had our first real winter in 10 years - maybe more. And
it still wasn't the way it was in the 70s. So people that live in
these states can see changes easier than you.

Now, does that mean that there's GW or, if there is, that humans are
causing it? I don't know, but I think we should look into it with
1/10 or 1% of our GDP.

One last point - GW could indeed mean global cooling! How you ask?
Because GW doesn't mean that temperatures will increase! All it means
is that more of Sun's energy is getting to Earth's weather systems.
What impact this increased energy has is unknown since we don't
understand climatic systems.

So GW could actually mean a new ice age. Or we could turn into Venus.
Just don't know. It's a risk and risks to humanity should be
investigated as if humanity is at stake.
