I've got a Dell Inspiron 7500 at work and an 8100 for personal use and will
never buy anything else. I used to have a compaq but sold it. Found out they
didn't support win2k on that model. I loaded it anyways but the ports became
flaky at best. Haven't had any problems with the Dells.

I agree 100%. I also have a Dell Inspiron 7500 for my personal laptop and
I haven't had a moment's trouble. It beats the pants off the IBM Thinkpad
provided by work, stupid thing crashes if I open 3-4 applications at once.

I highly recommend Dell. Stay away from IBM.
