I've only gotten to see Steinem once and she was a great speaker. Such a personal presence.
My favorite though (in the list of feminist writers I've seen) is Carol Queen. She is just so freakin' cool. I ended up going out to dinner with her and her partner and talking for hours. Just very approachable, intelligent and happy to discuss anything. Annie Sprinkle was a hoot and a holler. She's not as much an author as an a multi-media force of nature. And if you ever want to see someone who knows her way around sexuality and feminism inside and out, take a look at Midori. Her published work is mostly straight up sexuality education, but she writes online on all sorts of topics and is very knowledgeable and erudite.
