Besides -for an image map all you really want is the coordinates. Whatever the tool spits out just clean to taste. "Coding by hand" is a great mindset and skill... but not using ANY help is getting a little fanatical. ;^) My general mindset is to only use a tool when you're comfortable enough to debug it's output.
