Yeah, that worries me too. It is, however, also the thing which could make them most effective. It is a double-edged sword. Democrats have been showing the most leadership and putting out the most solid ideas though, so they are the ones that get to give this a go. They'll be judged by how they use their power. > As for consolidation of power under Bush, I find it very intriguing that so > many positive stories have been written about how secretive and disciplined > the Obama campaign has been - no leaks, etc. I just read a story like that > on Salon today. Come off it Robert, that was really weak by your standards. Message discipline in a campaign is equal to a systematic foundation of baldfaced lies, evasions and a steadfast belief that the law doesn't apply to the executive branch? Hello false equivalence! Yes, the Obama campaign showed remarkable discipline and it tended to have its squabbles internally instead of doing it in the press. Maybe Obama will end up having a secretive Whitehouse. I doubt it. I think there is a big difference between not airing dirty laundry and routinely lying to the American people. But maybe it will end up that way, its been known to happen. In which case I will call him out on it too. But lets wait to do that until there actually *is* an Obama administration to judge, shall we?
