Actually - probably. Farming is a huge business, just as sophisticated as any other. Corn is an awful choice to generate bio-fuel (it's also a pretty awful choice for a sweetener but that's a different issue), but we had a lot of it. They found things to do with it and make money even if those things are ridiculous. At the same time no matter how bad the idea of using corn as biofuel is you can't use it as a argument against bio-fuel in general... any more than you can you can say "it's cold out, global warming is a myth!" and not sound like an idiot.
