It's not a pretty answer. Basically the DRC conflict doesn't get
mainstream media coverage because the victims are black Africans, and
for the most part, people in US and Europe just don't care about what
goes on in that part of the world.  Israel gets more coverage because
it's Israel, whose supporters are often wealthy and vocal.  There are
a tremendous number of people who think that the Jews are the chosen
people and deserving of protection, and a lot of the people are in
positions of influence, both political and in media.

What should Obama do about it?  He need to fix his own house first.
