When Microsoft hired Ralph Reed to lobby for them, I went on a
campaign to purge them from my life. I can't get totally away from
them because of client requirements but I use Google for email, Open
Office for desktop apps, Linux for OS when possible, etc. I sometimes
worry about my email disappearing on Google, so I download and archive
the important stuff. I'm not really all that concerned with my info
living on Google servers, although I would be extremely reluctant to
put it on Microsoft servers - but that's just me.
