The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit today ruled that the
Second Amendment right to bear arms cannot be held to restrict state
gun control laws until the Supreme Court rules that the right applies
to the states.

Interpretation:

The most conservative judges in the country (Easterbrook & Posner)
said that states CAN BAN GUNS *until* the Supreme Court says they
can't.

And here's just one interesting tension: conservatives LOVE to uphold
gun rights, but that's more of a modern fad.

Conservatives forever, however, have been federalists: in other words
State law over federal law.

So what does a conservative SCOTUS justice do?  Uphold the federal
government's ability to trample on states rights OR state's right to
ban guns?

Verrrrryyyy interesting.
