Y'know, they can create suits that allow someone to be comfortable in the harshest environments (space, underwater) You'd think they could make some kind of suit that's allow y'all to be comfortable in the desert heat..

So with that gear, which weighs about 120 lbs (including weapon and helmet), it makes it pretty miserable. I think that it increases the core body temperature quite a bit. Makes it about 20 or so degrees hotter than it is. But, being infantry, we embrace the suck.
