Comcast has bought NBC Universal! Now begins a long review by Regulators about the deal.
"GE agreed to pay as much as $2 billion to Vivendi if the GE-Comcast transaction isnt completed by the end of 2010, one of the people familiar with the matter said. Vivendi sought assurances of a payment in case the deal doesnt pass regulatory scrutiny, said Tuna Amobi, a New York-based analyst at Standard & Poors. The venture would give Philadelphia-based Comcast control of entertainment and sports programs, with shows such as 30 Rock, and broadcast rights to the Olympics. The joint venture would also own Universal Studios, which has produced films including the Fast & Furious and the Jason Bourne franchises.
