Dominion had a new accountant in place and was ready to turn around when the
hostile bid came in, there are unsubstantiated rumors that the old
accountant was defended by AB lawyers.

I don't know the whole story, but from what you have said so far I
think it's just as likely that Dominion was going out of business
either way.  If AB didn't come along the recipe may have been forever
lost and the plant may have shut down and sat abandoned.

I guess there are other potential outcomes as well...
