Those charts omit the dates, just listing duration. The most recent recession started December of 2007. The date it ended is still a matter of debate and has not been officially announced by the National Bureau of Economic Research (I think), but most of the discussion I've seen has tagged it as being in the May to June time range. Obama did not take office until the end of January 2009. Therefore, by your logic, Obama managed to end the recession in about 4 months. He's magic!
