As others have pointed out, the Mac address is useless in this case. If your friend had anything like a "GoToMyPC" (is there a Mac version)? or anything that would automatically sign in you might end up with a clue. IM frequently signs in automatically, even GMail will report the IP addresses of the last few accesses (a link down at the bottom of the page). This would require you to leave the passwords intact though, which means they can get into your stuff while you are waiting on them to reveal their location. Come to think of it, if your friend has a GMail account I would definitely watch that like a hawk. Also, any other POP email accounts that may be setup to check mail automatically would generate logs on the mail servers they connect to. You're probably going to have a relatively hard time getting mist ISPs to co-operate with you on that, but you never know. A work email account may be the best bet if the "IT guy" (or dept) at the the office is particularly interested in helping you out. Other things that might sign in automatically that might also be able to be tied back to a user... - Default browser homepage - Dropbox - Antivirus updater - OS Updater - Adobe (or any vendor specific) Updater - Facebook or any site that the person clicked "stay signed in" on Don't know if any of those will help, but there you go... -Cameron . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:317357 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
