it might be that were running "enterprise" apps...which translates to "not 
updated often".  We've had issues with the 32bit odbc vs 64 bit. --- why they 
keep them separate is another question.  Also, just today, we had an issue 
installing Citrix XenServer where it looks for .net libs, doesn't find them, so 
you go to install them and the installer says they're already installed.  My 32 
bit vm doesn't have these problems.

Office 2010 64 bit crashed on us a lot more than the 32 bit counterpart has 
done. 

Then there's also the issue with both 32 and 64 bit libs on the system.  40gb 
is about the smallest partition you could install it on.  Plus, if you're 
running both 32 and 64 bit apps at the same time, you're loading both sets of 
libs into memory.

IMHO, 64 bit windows has a split personality disorder.  It can't decide which 
one it wants to be and when you want the 32-bit personality, the 64 bit one 
shows up and vice versa.
