No...it just happened that someone on the right, who initially agreed with
it, finally got a case of belated morals and professionalism and realized
that it was even too slimy for him and didn't want that attached to his
credentials.

Not only that, but if you consider this an attack "by the right" then
you also have to consider the warning the reporter got to be "by the
right". Therefore, although 'the right' was contemplating an action of
questionably ethics, the backed away from it.

Unless, of course, you're going to give the right credit only for their
douche moves, in which case you're really no better than they are.

to identify and work for the right."

If, on the other hand, the right starts to champion him, then in my mind
they would become conflated.
