So let's get this straight. The federal government, much to the chagrin of
Republicans and many taxpayers, decided to spend $800 billion dollars of our
money. According to the writers' logic, because Republicans opposed this
massive government seizure of our money, they should now be forbidden from
asking that part of* *that money, which of course is in part their own
constituents' money,* *be returned to them in the form of stimulus spending.
Personally, I would like my Congressman to vote against such a plan (which
he did), but if the money is going to be spent, I want him to go and ask for
some of it, because that money is ultimately coming out of my pocket. Get
it?
